Mark W. Anderson is an independent writer and journalist with a varied and extensive background in corporate communications, financial writing, public policy analysis, general news reporting and feature writing.

During the past ten years, Mark has worked with some of the premier financial and publishing firms in Chicago, including Morningstar, Deerfield Capital Management and Imagination Publishing. In addition to developing a strong background in business and financial writing, he has also published a number of articles dealing with such subjects as labor issues, community news and personal profiles, as well as having a play produced and creating a popular weblog at www.thesentimentalist.com. A 2006 graduate of Columbia College Chicago, he majored in Journalism and was managing editor of the award-winning Columbia Chronicle. Recently, he served as Senior Editor with Imagination Publishing, a custom publishing house based in Chicago.

An avid listener of jazz and big band sounds, the lifelong Chicagoan lives with his wife, Amanda, in a Northwest side bungalow stacked with books and records.
